Our PTO, What We Do...
Through the hard work of our PTO Board and committee volunteers, over the years, we raised enough money to accomplish the following throughout the years:
- funding and updating the basketball hoops at CRS and LLE
- funding a new state of the art Obstacle Course at DMS
- funding the Gaga Pit at LLE
- supported the updated design of the DMS Cafeteria
- funding new classroom and library books
- funding new musical equipment
- funding updated STEM materials
- funding audio and visual equipment for the News Club
- funding the expansion of the County Road playground
- funding for some furniture and devices such as calculators, iPads and Kindles for various grades
- funding some outdoor recess equipment
- funding the upgrade to the sound system at DMS
- funding of classroom projects (hands on teacher projects created by lesson plan)
- funding of Lego Robotics Bundles for DMS
- funding fitness equipment for Health Class
- funding curtains for the stage at DMS
Additionally, the funds raised are used to support our various PTO programs:
- funding and planning the DMS musical, an amazing performance put on by the middle schoolers over at DMS
- funding and planning International Day in March
- funding and coordinating Author Visits and Guest Speaker Enrichment Assemblies throughout the year
- funding and coordinating Enriching Assemblies throughout the year such as STAR Labs, the Giant Life Sized Whale Visit, Mobile Dinosaur Museum, African Drummer Program and many, many more!
- funding and coordinating Crafts, Snacks and Pizza at 4 various Holiday Parties (throughout the year)
- organizing and partially funding School-Based Dances (prek, CRS, LLE, 5th/6th grade at DMS)
- planning and partially funding 4th Grade Moving Up Festivities
- 4th Grade Yearbooks are fully gifted by the PTO to each student and to 4th Grade Staff
- planning and partially funding 8th Grade Graduation Festivities including the BBQ, Ice Cream Social, DC Bagel Breakfast, and the 8th Grade Dance
- funding the DMS Fun Committee (4 sessions per year of pure fun for everyone!)
- funding One Book One School (books for every CRS, LLE Students)
